"What's the difference between physiotherapy and sports therapy?
Generally speaking the two are very similar, both with a strong focus on movement, muscles and injuries. They are both skilled in assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries using a range of techniques. Physiotherapists have a broader medical background leading to specialist services such as neurological, cardiac and respiratory care.

"Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist or sports/physical therapist in High Wycombe?"
No, you can self refer for treatment with a physiotherapist, chiropractor, osteopath or sports therapist if you are willing to pay for private treatment. You will need a referral from your GP to see an NHS therapist. If you have private medical insurance your provider may cover some treatments but check with your therapist before as not all therapists accept insurance and not all insurance accepts all therapies.
